    Position Description

    The Business Development Manager supervises daily charter operations on company-managed vessels and is a key member in successful customer delivery. Located in Hamburg, Copenhagen, Geneva or Marseille, the Business Development Manager works as a key member of our customer-facing team in Europe. 

    Job Responsibilities

    • Performs duties in accordance with the company Safety Management System (SMS); adheres to ISM and company standards
    • Supports European business development function in ‘total account management’ capacity
    • Works in conjunction with the European business development team to identify potential revenue generating solutions with Seaspan’s key customers
    • Partners cross-functionally within Seaspan to deliver on and developing industry leading solutions
    • Develops and maintains relationships with the existing customers through enhancing customer coverage and broadening the relationship base
    • Gathers solid and actionable business intelligence and information through building relationships with customer teams at all level with customer organizations and works as a team member to develop solutions for customers 
    • Proactively negotiate Seaspan’s existing fleet of vessels for charter in partnership with the Commercial Operations team
    • Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with the customer’s commercial, post-fixture and/or operations teams while effectively managing risks and Seaspan’s business interests
    • Monitor and respond to any charter party obligations of company vessels in partnership with the Post-Fixture team
    • Supports the Post-Fixture team in negotiating any vessel commercial reports in support of claims  
    • Anticipates upcoming customer commercial and operational needs, and handles in a proactive manner

    Requirements

    • Post-secondary degree in relevant field from a recognized institution
    • Experience in container shipping is a requirement
    • English and German or French fluency is required
    • Minimum five years’ experience in chartering or commercial management required
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
    • Must be able to properly analyze situations, mitigate and manage risk, and determine a suitable course of action as part of problem-solving skills

    Desired Qualifications

    • Able to negotiate with and influence others, establish rapport and maintain effective working relationships
    • In depth Charter party knowledge and understanding, and container industry experience is strongly preferred.

  • IT Service Delivery Specialist

     

    Position Description:

     

    This position reports to the Team Lead, IT Customer Care & Helpdesk and focuses on support for all Tier 1 and 2 end user support on-shore.

    Responsible for providing customer care and support services to various users experiencing technical problems and IT issues involving business applications, workplace productivity tools, desktop, laptop, telecommunications and network services. This includes providing second line support, problem tracking, diagnosis, replication, resolution, escalation and system / application support documentation development for all of Seaspan’s offices.

    This role will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure client satisfaction with both operational and project related issues.

    The IT Service Delivery Specialist also manages project support transition services and strives to achieve timely closure of project implementation issues and ensure a positive synergy exists between project and support teams as well as end users.

     

    Job Responsibilities:

     

    • Respond to systems, applications, hardware, and other client problems by investigating problems and taking corrective actions. Provide telephone, email and desk-side second-level support for desktops, laptops, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Based Operating Systems (Microsoft Windows 10), iOS, Android, telecommunications and suite of Seaspan’s business applications.
    • Configure, install and update desktops, laptops and peripherals based on client service requests, computer evergreen program or as otherwise assigned. Perform desktop application installations, upgrades, and support and maintenance activities.
    • Perform preventative maintenance of systems, applications and computing equipment in area of IT Service Delivery team’s responsibility.
    • Provide operating and administration functions including user set up, configuration and management for systems and business applications. These responsibilities include:
      • creation and termination of Network / O365 user accounts
      • managing the rights and permissions of network/email accounts
      • creation and termination of user accounts for business applications
      • managing the rights and permissions of accounts for business applications
      • creation of group permissions and rights to file directories

    • Liaise with key contacts and IT resources on application and system issues. Communicate effectively with clients and other team members while gathering information to facilitate problem resolution.
    • Assist Infrastructure team in support as "remote-hands" when office infrastructure upgrades or maintenance is required. Assist in Data Center server backup activities, file and data management and IT disaster recovery operations.
    • Monitor and resolve opened tickets in a timely fashion, meeting or exceeding defined service levels while providing quality solutions. Document all actions and solutions within Help Desk tickets and update the technical details within operational procedures as appropriate. Ensure customer satisfaction, including taking ownership of opened tickets and ensuring incidents are fully resolved.
    • Create and maintain support documentation and document operational processes as related to the operations of IT Service Delivery team. Work closely with other IT staff to identify chronic problems and help document the action plan to resolve and hand over for support (e.g., user training, FAQ's, hardware fixes, software upgrades, etc.) Train peers on the resolution of common application issues.
    • Participate in pre-deployment / deployment of projects and provide support, documentation and all readiness documents in preparation for transition to production and hand off to internal support groups.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service skills which include the passion to go above and beyond exceeding client expectations
    • Produce reports as required to facilitate the work deliverables, set and measure customer service targets
    • Participate in IT Service Delivery team meetings and identify outstanding issues and areas for improvement.
    • Undertake any other related duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Working in an IT environment 3-5 years in a customer service-oriented role. Background in a Help Desk environment tiers 1 & 2.
    • Understanding of Incident and Change Management and ability to follow Seaspan’s process, procedure standards and methodologies
    • Basic understanding of Infrastructure, Business Applications, and Help Desk technology
    • Working knowledge of Active Directory and related user management tasks

    • Supervises vessel damages, and ensuring correct, timely recovery of amounts due from Charterers. Close coordination with the accounts receivable department is a requirement
    • Monitors vessels for potential trading breaches under the charter party and insurance covers; monitors vessel performance through breach transits

    Position Description:

    The Project Marine Engineer is responsible for researching, developing and implementing various engineering and technology projects for the operating fleet and newbuilds as part of the Projects and Engineering function, with particular focus on asset development.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of the assigned engineering projects, and for the planning, control and reporting of it.
    • Provides project management and support for fleet modification and retrofit programs, such as:
    • Vessel hull efficiency measures

    The Executive Project Specialist provides project-based and administrative support for the CFO.     Position Description

    The Sr. Manager, Total Rewards will oversee Atlas and Seaspan’s compensation, global payroll, performance management, benefits and HRIS programs and strategies.     • Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the organization’s mission and strategic vision.
    • Manage the execution and delivery of Seaspan’s total rewards philosophy, strategy and programs, act as subject matter expert and provide consultative services and expertise on issues and concerns;

    • Support the creation of materials related to the quarterly earnings calls including but not limited to; investor presentation, fact sheet, Q&A development, financial back-up, post-event reporting, earning press release, scripts and transcript reviews
    • Ensure accurate and timely coverage of company data, events and news in both the broader and financial media
    • Develop tracking and reporting mechanisms to monitor and proactively engage with members of the financial and broader media communities
    • Analyze sell-side analyst notes and review sell-side analyst financial models for accuracy and reasonableness of assumption, ensuring accurate depiction of consensus estimates

    Reporting to the Director, we have an exciting opportunity for an Internal Audit Manager to join our team.The Internal Audit Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring SOX compliance in partnership with external parties, managing the organization’s risk portfolio through the coordination of Enterprise Risk Management, and is responsible for delivering operational audits. The Internal Audit team all operate with the objective of promoting operational efficiency and ensure financial statement reliability.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate Atlas Corp.’s risk assessment process, further develop and refine the process and make recommendations to have a scalable Internal Audit function for a high-growth organization
    • Facilitate key governance programs and oversight committees, including the Enterprise Risk Management framework and Ethics and Compliance Program
    • Own the delivery of the SOX compliance program through support and management of external resources, ensuring internal stakeholders are well informed 
    • Coordinate with external auditors on the annual audit plan

    • Strong knowledge of the COSO Integrated Framework (2013); knowledge of COBIT is an asset.
    • Minimum 6 years external/internal audit or public accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory position  
    • Knowledge of PCAOB requirements is preferred.
