    Position Description:     

    This position reports directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager, Marine and focuses on support and projects to our vessels. Support will be provided both remotely and by ship visits at different ports globally. The position requires occasional travel.

    Job Responsibilities:     

    • Monitor and respond to vessel and office tickets in the IT ticket system
    • Provide support to vessels and prepares IT requirements for delivery of new vessels based on established hardware guidelines
    • Provides day-to-day administration of IT services as it relates to vessel IT operations including but not limited to software under our support guide, satellite connectivity, servers, storage, networking, operating systems and core network services DNS, DHCP, etc.
    • Resolve ship problems: based on their complexity and/or urgency, oversee ship IT issues. Scope covers all vessel infrastructure tier 1 to 3 of IT systems.
    • Respond to Tier 1 and 2 Infrastructure tickets in the Hong Kong office and Asia region.
    • Escalate problem ticket to Tier-3 level support – Infrastructure and Business Applications.
    • Document and present visit findings to Team Lead
    • User support and IT training in the Hong Kong office
    • Plan and schedule IT ship visits in consultation with the Manager
    • Visit ships to resolve IT issues and audit active configurations for compliance with Enterprise standard
    • Develop and document systems and procedures
    • Rotation and available on-call for 24/7 IT emergency as required

    Requirements:

    • Diploma in IT or certifications such as MTA, CompTIA A+, CCENT/CCNA, VCA or equivalent experience
    • Basic knowledge of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN & WAN concepts
    • Knowledge and experience with Windows 7-10, Windows Server 2008-16, and Active Directory
    • Virtualization knowledge (Hyper-V, VMWare) an asset.

    Position Description:
    As a member of the Financial Services team, the Accounts Officer – Receivables is responsible for the timely processing of charterer expense deductions and the invoicing of recoverable costs for the Seaspan group of companies. Please note this is a contractual position for 12 Months.

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Processes charterer deductions for owner’s expenses in a timely manner, according to the terms outlined in charter party agreements
    - Tracks deductions, requests and reviews supporting documents, obtains approvals by liaising with appropriate Seaspan departments
    - Allocates costs to expense accounts, monitors provisions, identifies excluded costs and issues invoices to charterers where applicable
    • Prepares invoices for crew bonuses and other recoverable costs
    • Monitors aging of outstanding owners expense deductions and supports AR and Commercial Teams with the shared goal of resolving deduction issues in a timely way.
    • Reconciles GL accounts, investigates and resolves discrepancies.
    • Maintains owners expense statistics for charterers and by vessels. Example: nature of deduction, amount, frequency, accept vs rejected.
    • Maintains records of charterers supporting documents in shared drive
    • Contributes ideas and actively participates in improvements to enhance the overall efficiency of the Owners Expense process, including both technology and non-system based solutions.
    • Supports the AR Team by providing coverage for vacations, customer queries and various other tasks, as required.
     

    Requirements:
    • Diploma or degree in commerce/management/accounting or equivalent
    • 3-5 years of accounting experience
    • Knowledge of receivables functions and processes
    • Able to handle simple account reconciliations and analysis including resolution of reconciling items
    • Familiarity with business systems software i.e. NetSuite
    • Good PC skills specifically using MS Excel (intermediate level), MS Word and Adobe.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    Seaspan is seeking a Purchaser to join the team. This position is responsible for ensuring that all supplies are delivered to the vessel in a timely and cost effective manner both for assigned ships and new delivers.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Responds to requisitions received from assigned vessels for stores and supplies. Issues requests for quotes (RFQ’s) to approved vendors
    • Communicates with vendors following defined procedures to process RFQ’s and issues purchase orders using the company’s purchasing module
    • Communicates with superintendents, purchasing manager and other team members to ensure the information is shared with all affected. Plans purchases to connect the spares to vessels efficiently
    • Ensures that supplies are provided to the vessel in a timely manner to ensure cost-efficient, safe and timely operation of the vessels in accordance with company policy and practices
    • Ensures that the purchase activities for the vessels allocated are up to date at all times, properly reflected in the company’s database and that there are no pending issues
    • Creates, authorizes and reviews requisition
    • Performs other duties as required

    Requirements:

    • Two or more years of experience in shipping company in a purchasing role or equivalent

    • Completed graduation in any discipline (3 years university or equivalent)

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and good writing style

    Position Description

    • Qualifications and experience in areas such as ISM auditing, ISPS Code, and Computerized Planned Maintenance and Purchasing Systems are an asset
    • Proven leadership skills with excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflict
    • Good knowledge of English language, both verbal and written, is essential

    Position Description: 

    The Payroll and Benefits Administrator processes shore payroll for Seaspan employees in Vancouver, Hong Kong and other international offices. They also provide HRIS maintenance and benefits administration. This position works closely with other members of the HR team and provides front-line support for some HR functions including general administration and corporate governance.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Provides coordination and administration services, including maintaining employee contracts and payroll records, benefit enrollment, performance management and HRIS system administration 
    • Processes semi-monthly Canadian payroll and monthly international payroll including HK, Roving, and regional, administers benefits, and maintains files
    • In coordination with team members, participates in the generation and preparation of scheduled and ad-hoc reports, including the gathering and validation of data

    • Enrolls employees into company-wide benefits programs and updates files as changes occur 
    • Conducts reconciliations of benefits and validates T4 and other tax remittances. Ensures government remittances, surveys and filings with respect to payroll are submitted accurately and on time in accordance with regulations.   
    • Provides support to salary administration including drafting annual salary communications and updates the HRIS accordingly 
    • Participates in the development of process documentation for total rewards, benefits, payroll, and HRIS administration processes
    • Backs-up other members of the HR team

    Requirements:

    • Two or more years of experience in years in payroll function and understanding of Canadian payroll legislation

    Position Description:

    Reporting to the Team Lead, Data and Analytics, the Data Integration Specialist will be responsible for the modeling, mapping and execution of all activities related to Seaspan Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI). Additionally, this role will also support and manage Seaspan's existing ETL process. This role will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure client satisfaction with both operational and project-related issues. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Work with project managers and developers/database administrators to ensure that data entry, retrieval, change and delete functions meet business requirements for project completion.

    • Take lead in the design and maintenance of company data integrations involving a variety of custom data sources.

    • Support and maintain existing solutions deployed using the power platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.

    • Develop new solutions as required using Power Apps and Power Automate.

    • Identify data-related issues and work to ensure a high level of data availability.

    • Coordinate with other technical staff to develop relational database objects as required.

    • Analyze user requirements and based on findings, design functional specifications for inclusion in the Corporate Data Warehouse.

    • Evaluate and participate in the selection of database components, including hardware, relational database management systems, ETL software, metadata management tools, and database design solutions.

    Requirements:

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)

    • A minimum 2 years of experience with database platforms and writing SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers.

    • Proven experience with Power Apps in both model and canvas-driven development.

    • Proven experience with enterprise-level data integrations role.

    • Proven experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional databases between disparate business units and systems.

    • Hands on experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping and methodology development, and data mapping.

    • Deductive reasoning skills as they pertain to Data Integration activities, such as troubleshooting focused on determining source of issues and patterned vs. non-repeatable problems.

    • Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques.

    • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

    • Working in a team environment and experience working cohesively with related IT teams

    Position Description: 

    The Senior Analyst, Total Rewards will report directly to the Director, Total Rewards and HR System & Solutions and will deliver Atlas and Seaspan’s compensation, performance management, benefits and HRIS programs and strategies. The primary focus of this role is on owning key aspects of the total rewards programs and being the subject matter expert in compensation, benefits, HRIS and performance management related programs.  The role will be integral in the oversight and guidance of the data and analytical work done in support of corporate HR initiatives. 

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the organization’s mission and strategic vision
    • Exexute and deliver Seaspan’s total rewards philosophy, strategy and programs, act as subject matter expert and provide consultative services and expertise on issues and concerns
    • Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis to support HR, executive, and board reporting requests

    • Develop and maintain periodic standard and custom reports and provide internal clients with ad-hoc data for use in statistical analysis, strategic planning, internal/external surveys and presentations and reports
    • Manage global regulatory filings in relation to equity compensation and income taxes
    • Implement global compensation programs, policies, processes, and tools with a view towards creating operational efficiencies and improvements
    • Provide expert advice to leadership, managers, Human Resources colleagues, and associates on pay decisions, policies, and guidelines
    • Conduct compensation market benchmarking analysis; maintain existing salary ranges and ensure current rates are competitive and support recruitment and retention and reward high-performing associates
    • Collaborate with HR and senior leaders on structure, role changes, and related job analysis

    • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in compensation, payroll, and benefits, specifically job evaluation, compensation, and benefits analysis, and administration and quantitative modeling

    • Organizes Design Thinking and Brainstorming sessions as part of transformation initiatives
    • Develops, monitors and assists with KPIs, goals and objectives for Operations departments, including financial performance for the Seaspan fleet, and may provide recommendations for improvement
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager, Business Transformation and department needs
    • Attends department meetings and records minutes as required
    • Maintains accurate, up-to-date files, records, and logs of pending and completed jobs, and stores confidential documents
    • Is familiar with the Health, Safety, Environmental Protection and Quality Policy (PL-005) and understands the responsibilities under the Environmental Management System (EMS). In keeping with this and other compliance policies, they understand their duty to report any environmental noncompliance and/or concern to their manager or members of the senior management team (including the highest level of management) either directly or through the open reporting system as per Management System guidelines

    Requirements:

    • Two or more years of experience in an administrator/ coordinator position or equivalent; preferably in the maritime or similar technical industry such as logistics, supply chain or industrial
    • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and in a persuasive manner, verbally and in writing
    • Experience gathering business requirements, defining business process, application testing and project delivery
    • Innovative and strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset 
    • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines and expectations, and to maintain composure when faced with multiple demands
    • Strong attention to detail and deadlines

    Additional Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience in a Business Transformation team would be an asset
    • Process improvement or project management experience, or relevant studies (eg: Lean Six Sigma, Agile, PMP, etc) would be an asset
    • Prior experience in a ship management company would be an asset
    • Interest in technology and innovation-focused

    Position Description:

    The Data Scientist thinks creatively and utilizes multiple data sources for statistical analyses and innovative algorithms to leverage new insights from historical data. He/She improves existing tools and processes by automating tasks and data evaluations using different programming languages.
    The Data Scientist improves decision-making and drives strategic business decisions through data modelling and forecasting methodologies. He/She contributes directly into strategic development areas of the company such as the Decarbonization and the Improvement of the Energy Efficiency of the Seaspan fleet of ships.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Strong ability to create, generate and leverage relevant, actionable insights based on iterative data analysis, translate data driven output into business language, and make appropriate recommendations to respective business stakeholders

    • Automates analytics and reporting tasks by developing appropriate code for refreshing results & repeatability

    • Improve existing scripts for custom, in-house built software solutions for performance and scalability, to further develop and identify opportunities to create unique insights usable by the business owners

    • Visualizes and delivers results of analyses by creating reports, infographics, and dashboards that benefit other departments within the organization

    • Works with IT to ensure data is consistent with company requirements, builds data tables and integrates with other companies’ systems where appropriate

    • Assist in the creation of scripts to ingest and process raw data into databases and data warehouse

    • Maintains data health and integrity across systems

    • Documents developments and reporting processes to ensure continuity of delivered materials

    • Stays current with innovations in data acquisition, modelling and analytics

    • Has an innate understanding of the business value chain and customer lifecycle. Aligns project support with broader business strategy, including core drivers of business value

    • Performs other duties as required

    Requirements:

    • Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering; or Bachelor’s degree with equivalent technical experience

    • Proficiency with general purpose programming language (e.g. Python) and associated libraries for scientific/computing, including various statistical and visualization packages (e.g. Pandas, Matplotlib, NumPy, SciPy)

    • Proficiency with Business Intelligence Software (e.g. PowerBI) and dashboard development

    • Proficiency with developing, testing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment

    • Effective analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills

    • Innovative / creative mindset 

    Additional Desired Qualifications:

    • Sound organizational/prioritization skills

    • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

    • Able to work in a collaborative and cooperative way with the various stakeholders and communicate information effectively

    • Previous experience in a similar role is an asset
