HONG KONG, CHINA – May 22, 2014 /CNW/ – Seaspan Corporation ("Seaspan" or the "Company") (NYSE:SSW) announced today that it has filed a prospectus supplement with the Securities and Exchange Commission through which it may, from time to time, issue Class A common shares (the "common shares") with an aggregate offering price of up to $75 million. Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC (the "Sales Agents") will act as sales agents for the offering.

Sales of common shares, if any, will be made by means of ordinary brokers' transactions on the New York Stock Exchange at market prices, in block transactions, or as otherwise agreed to between Seaspan and the Sales Agents. Seaspan is under no obligation to issue common shares under the equity distribution agreement.

Seaspan intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, which may include funding vessel acquisitions.
