Seaspan Corporation Appoints Sai W. Chu as New Chief Financial Officer

HONG KONG, CHINA – May 29, 2007 /CNW/ – Seaspan Corporation ("Seaspan" or the "Company") (NYSE:SSW) announced today that that its Board of Directors has appointed Sai W. Chu to be the new Chief Financial Officer as of June 8, 2007. Mr. Chu will replace Kevin M. Kennedy, who is leaving the Company to pursue other interests, effective June 8, 2007. Until such effective date, Mr. Kennedy will assist the Company with transitional matters relating to his function.

Sai W. Chu is the Chief Financial Officer of Seaspan Ship Management Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company's manager, Seaspan Management Services Limited. He was appointed to that office in May 2005 after joining Seaspan Ship Management Ltd. as Corporate Controller in September 2004. Mr. Chu qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 having articled with KPMG's Vancouver office and also qualified as a Certified Management Accountant in 1990.

Seaspan owns containerships and charters them pursuant to long-term fixed-rate charters. Seaspan's fleet of 55 containerships consists of 27 existing containerships and 28 to be delivered over approximately the next 3.5 years.
